    Default bullet cases

was zeroing my rifle this morning and 2 rounds were unusually sticky in the breech, after firing both rounds i found both cases were cracked where the bullet head was joined to the case.is that dangerous or what,i checked the rest but no others were damaged.both bullets actually didnt grout well at all.was it just a dodgy few or is the lot faulty.

I'd say it's a. 17 HMR cracked casses are a popular thing with the HMR but it doesn't stop them from knocking rabbits over.

I don't know how dangerous it is with a centre fire but I'm almost sure it's not dangerous with the HMR that it really just effects accuracy. Hopefully someone will come along with a better answer for you.

I wouldn't worry about it, unless you are seeing other signs. Every now and again you are going to get a few pieces of brass that have brittle necks slip through and that's the result.

Scrub. The chamber, throat, and bolt face,.then try again..... Then use a set of callipers to measure neck sizes before and after firing to see what expansion your getting...do this with several rounds
