Grey Backed Gull

The field is being ploughed at the moment,
Hoards of crows and what seem to be grey backed gulls. Would they come this far in land?? There white with black wings. Are they Grey Backed Gulls?

Looks to be Foxy, not 100% sure as they were circling above. They had white bodies with black wings. They a good bit from the seaside

Are the black backed the unprotected ones? (or protected unless causing damage?)
