So its the season of goodwill and all that so this year for myself I thought Id get a Manson Reamers muzzle recrown kit.
It arrived in the post [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]So i got to work straight away putting an 11 degree target crown on my pistol (I would have used the rifle but Im in between 2 at the minute) So whats needed...... 1 barrel, .357 pilot, 0 degree cutter, 11 deg cutter, Cutting oil, Deburring tool, Soft jaw vice. Gauge and pilot wrench and tool driver. [IMG] [/IMG]Barrel is placed in the vice where the pilot is placed down the barrel. The pilot has an expanding collet that fits very snug in the barrel. The 0 deg cutter is oiled and placed onto the pilot. It first cuts the muzzle square to the bore. [IMG] [/IMG]Because the pistol is new and has been cared for the muzzle is pretty square to the bore anyway but the tool still removes metal anyway (above picture) Next the 11 degree cutter is added and given a few turns with the tool driver ...... [IMG] [/IMG]results speak for themselves, the muzzle didnt have an 11 degree crown on it. Lastly the deburring tool ( its an extra for the kit but I wanted all surfaces perfect. Sorry i didnt get any pics of the deburrer in the barrel .... [IMG] [/IMG]In all .... my barrel went from [IMG] [/IMG]to..... ![]() |

It completely removes the need for a lathe to do the operation but still has the same accuracy ![]() |
